LinkBunch is Down for Maintenance

It's been a while since I've posted here and what better time could it be than to announce a big change in LinkBunch since it's inception?

LinkBunch is currently down for maintenance. The service has gotten mightly popular and, as a result, the existing, rushed-up code didn't hold up too well. The database server was getting hammered, so I had to take the site down and sit and redevelop it.

Now that I know what kind of traffic I can expect on the site, I should be able to build a better performing, more scalable LinkBunch with a few extra features that have been requested often.

And, as a bonus, I'm also going to sit and redesign it!

Hold on to those links. We've got a lot more bunching to do!

Thank goodness! A post. For days I have been trying to get in, and have not been able to find out how long it is going to be down. I am glad to hear that eventually Linkbunch will be back.

I wish you all the best in redevelopment, and most of all I hope it goes swiftly. You may not realize just how useful this site is! As a teacher and librarian, I'm daily in need of the ability to send students and patrons a quick "list of links," and, when the Firefox extension was working, it was a snap to do a search, open up 10-12 tabs from links, and then Linkbunch the lot of them. Gosh that was handy, and you have no idea how much I miss being able to do it.

Again, best of luck, and please get the site back up (with working Firefox plugin!) as soon as you can.
